Denver residents are taking advantage of the city’s new recreation center and are volunteering for the center’s first day of operation.
The city is accepting applications for volunteers who will be needed to help with the opening and cleaning of the recreation center at the Denver Convention Center.
The center, which opened in March, will be used to hold workshops and events that include art, crafts, dance, games, cooking, music, cooking classes, and a small business incubator.
People who want to volunteer can go to denvercamps.org to apply.
Anyone who wants to help will need to fill out a volunteer application online.
The parker Recreation Center will be open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday from 9 a.l.m to 5 p.y., and Saturday from 9:30 a.p.m.-3:30 p.s.m, and Sunday from 9a.m-1 p.p.
“The center will be free and open to the public from 10:00 a.a. to noon, and from noon to 1 p.r.m each day, but parkers will need a wristband to get in.
The Denver Convention Centre, which was built on the site of a historic church, has been open since January 2018.
It’s part of a $1.6 billion project to create a new convention center and a new sports arena, which are the citys largest investments in a single project in more than 40 years.
