AZTEC RECREATION CENTER, AZ — A new facility that was supposed to create the largest indoor recreation center in the country has been delayed because of a lack of funding.
The AZTECHREACTOR, located at the corner of 2nd and Washington streets, has been slated to open this month but the project has been plagued by delays, according to AZTEXEC, the state agency that operates the facility.
The project was expected to begin in 2019 and was to have been completed by the end of 2020, according the AZTEMP.
The project has also been plagued with construction delays.
The state’s Department of Conservation and Recreation has been in charge of the project since it was first announced in January, but the delays have delayed construction.
