After a long, quiet summer, Lakewood residents will get their first glimpse of the Lakewood Recreation Center at 8:30 a.m. today when the facility opens to the public.
The facility is scheduled to be open for a one-week-a-week event starting Tuesday.
It will be open to anyone of all ages, ages 12 and older, with children ages 6 and under allowed.
Lakewood will be a one of a kind place, said Tom O’Donnell, executive director of the nonprofit group Lakewood and its surrounding towns.
This is a place where the community can come together and be a part of something so special, O’Neill said.
“The idea is that people can come in and meet each other and have a good time,” O’Connor said.
“There’s a lot of energy around here, and we want it to be fun and a safe place for people to come together.”
The recreation center will feature a variety of programs, from a children’s playground, to yoga and dance classes, to concerts and an open-air basketball court.
The center will also host a variety sports and community events.
The recreation center, which is expected to be ready by August, is expected also to serve as a training facility for the Lake Stevens community.
Lakewood has become a popular spot for people who enjoy the outdoors, and the recreation center has also been a place for the community to come and work.
The park and recreation center were constructed during the construction of the park and was designed to be a safe and welcoming place.
The Lakewood Community Foundation, which oversees the recreation facility, has been working on the project for a number of years.
It has had a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, but a lot has changed since then, said Steve Buss, a member of the foundation board.
“We’re getting ready to go out and raise funds for our park, and for the recreation project,” Buss said.
Lakewoods new recreation center is expected open in August.
Lake Stevens, about 60 miles northwest of Portland, Oregon, is a community of about 8,000 people.
It is home to about 20,000 seasonal employees, according to the Oregon Department of Labor and Industries.
