The world has changed since “Despicably Me,” but the franchise remains in a constant state of flux.
The latest installment of the beloved family-friendly series has already earned over $1 billion worldwide and is currently being adapted for the big screen by Warner Bros. The studio is set to release the “Desperado” sequel in 2017, which will also star Tom Hardy.
The director behind the first “Desperate” installment, Robert Rodriguez, also recently announced he will helm the follow-up.
“Despising” actress Amy Adams also revealed she has been cast as the lead in the film adaptation of her 2007 novel.
“I am thrilled to have a role in the upcoming ‘Despise,’ and it feels like a dream come true to be able to work with the great Amy Adams,” she said.
The actress said she is excited to play the lead character in the next installment of her novel, which chronicles a group of friends that become involved in a car accident.
Adams also shared a few fun facts about her role in “Despecialized.”
“I don’t really like to talk about my role in ‘Despechement’ as much as I’d like, because I really wanted it to be just the two of us and just a family,” she joked.
“But I do like to share some personal anecdotes, because that’s what’s so good about it: It’s not about the money.
It’s about the story.”
